The Climb-up Insect Interceptor, for Bed Bugs is a very simple pitfall trap that can be placed under the legs and feet of your furniture including your couches and chairs, bed posts, or other posts and legs of furniture where anyone rests or sleeps.
The Bed Bugs that infest the walls and other parts of the room or rooms will travel in search of a blood meal, (you are the blood meal) and can be intercepted and trapped in the Climb-up Interceptor as they try to climb into your bed and or other funiture where you have the interceptor devices installed.
This make the Climb-up Insect Interceptor, an excellent and very inexpensive way to keep your bed or couch free from a future bed bug infestation. Also lets you monitor an existing bed bug problem, or to detect a new bed bug infestation.
The Center Well where your the foot of your bed post would sit is 4 1/2 inches across in diameter.
Precautionary Statement:
Furniture legs may break through the inner well when padded carpeting is present. The thicker the padding or carpet the better chance of the furniture leg of breaking the inner well. Below you will find an easy fix.
If carpeting is present in your home, the underside of the inner well may not have enough support to prevent it from breaking. If the inner well becomes cracked or broken, the broken device should be washed and discarded and replaced with a new Climb-Up device. Cracking can be prevented over padded carpet by reinforcing with a 3" diameter rigid disk under the device, for example a 3" steel dock washer.
