Fire Ant Products
Gourmet Ant Bait Gel has 6% Disodium octaborate tetrahydrate (DOT) as the active ingredient. DOT is less repellent then other Boron based toxicants and is more effective at eliminating both the workers and queens in active ant colonies than many other products. Recent studies show that foraging ants take only 1/4 as much food in gel form as compared to feeding on liquids, Therefore, the dose of DOT delivered to the colony is about the same as in a 1-2% liquid bait. Gel baits tend to dry out quickly unless placed in an Ant Cafe, so small placements should not be relied upon for control. For a more economical bait product try the Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait.
-The Bait stays where it is placed
-Is attractive to both Sweet and Protein feeding ants
-Will not become runny, even if exposed to high temperatures for several hours
-Use indoors in cracks and crevices to quickly eliminate foragers.
-Many small placements can be made quickly, so that the best place for larger placements can be determined.
-Gel baits are very economical to use.
